Bridging the Gap Between Educational Attainment and Workforce Demands

Only 30% of Texas 4th graders meet grade-level reading standards, and almost 250,000 Texas students are not enrolled in school this fall compared to last year. To meet the demands of a 21st century economy, Texas must make meaningful improvements to our education system. Texas needs – right now – innovative thinking and sustained investments to produce a workforce that will maintain our state’s prosperity.
