Focus

Trip works as the policy advisor for K-12 Education. He covers policy areas related to curriculum and instruction, particularly as it relates to numeracy, implementation of high instructional materials, student assessment, and the expansion of career and technical opportunities across the state.

Prior Work Experience

Before joining Texas 2036, Trip held various roles in the Texas Legislature, his most recent role being Senior Policy Advisor for State Representative Donna Howard.

Starting his career on campaigns in 2004, Trip rose through the ranks of Texas political staffers, from the entry-level positions of knocking on doors and phone banking to Legislative Director and eventually Chief of Staff. In his later roles, he focused on education, economic development and local government.
