Texas 2036 Insight
Math results were mixed across grade levels in 2026. Grades 4, 5, 6 and 8 posted gains in students meeting grade-level expectations, while Grade 7 mathematics declined across all three performance levels.
The results underscore both signs of recovery and persistent challenges in math achievement, particularly as students advance into middle school.
Science STAAR Results
In 2023, the STAAR test was redesigned to better align with classroom instruction, which necessitated re-setting of standards and scales from 2022 to 2023.
Due to standard setting requirements for the grades 5 and 8 science assessments, combined science results will be released on July 31, 2026.
