Margaret is an experienced development professional with a proven track record securing leadership and major gifts, as well as managing all aspects of donor engagement and stewardship. Trained as a development officer at SMU Meadows School of the Arts, Margaret was part of a team that successfully raised over $1 billion for the SMU Unbridled campaign. She then served as development director for several different North Texas nonprofit organizations before joining Texas 2036. Prior to her development career, she practiced trial law in Dallas for 24 years, finishing her legal career by representing clients who would not otherwise have had access to counsel. Born and raised in Dallas, with family roots in Texas tracing back for generations, Margaret graduated from Tulane University before returning to Dallas to obtain her J.D. from SMU School of Law. She and her husband live in Dallas in the Oak Lawn neighborhood. They have three grown daughters and are enjoying their empty nest.
