Prior Work Experience

Prior to this role, she worked as a marketing specialist for the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and covered local news at Patch Media in Austin.

While working for the two newsrooms, she covered entertainment and trending news for the Coastal Bend and reported statewide stories for USA Today. In 2021, Meagan was awarded a Texas APME for her online live coverage of Hurricane Hanna’s landfall in Corpus Christi in summer 2020.

Meagan spent one year as a social media specialist for Del Mar College in Corpus Christi where she helped catapult the college’s digital media presence through her innovative social media campaign called #vikingproudwednesday. Prior to that, she worked three years as a reporter and web editor for Del Mar College’s The Foghorn.

Meagan was born and raised in Corpus Christi, and is a South Tex-Mex/breakfast taco connoisseur. She spends her free time doing absolutely nothing at home, maybe tending to her garden, and sometimes exploring what Austin has to offer.
