Meagan joined Texas 2036 in 2022 after working more than six years as a professional journalist in Texas. Prior to this role, she worked as a marketing specialist for the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and covered local news at Patch Media in Austin.

Before her move to the Austin metro, Meagan spent 3.5 years as a reporter for the Corpus Christi Caller-Times and USA Today Network. While working for the two newsrooms, she covered entertainment and trending news for the Coastal Bend and reported statewide stories for USA Today. In 2021, Meagan was awarded a Texas APME for her online live coverage of Hurricane Hanna’s landfall in Corpus Christi in summer 2020.

Meagan spent one year as a social media specialist for Del Mar College in Corpus Christi where she helped catapult the college’s digital media presence through her innovative social media campaign called #vikingproudwednesday. Prior to that, she worked three years as a reporter and web editor for Del Mar College’s The Foghorn.

Meagan was born and raised in Corpus Christi and is a Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a minor in Public Relations. She’s also a Del Mar College graduate with an associates degree in Advertising/Public Relations, Digital Media, and Journalism. Meagan spends her free time enjoying a good book at home, tending to her garden, and exploring what Austin has to offer.
