Val LaMantia has been committed to serving many organizations including the Girl Scouts of Greater South Texas, Boys and Girls Club, International Museum of Arts & Science, Hispanic & McAllen Chamber of Commerce, McAllen Park and Recreation, McAllen Youth Soccer, and the UTPA (UTRGV) Development Board. She currently serves on the board for South Texas Academic Rising Scholars (STARS) Scholarship Fund, the Texas Business Council, Valley Proud Environment Council and the UT Pan American Development Board.

La Mantia has also been an active part of the business community in South Texas for over 30 years. She serves as a partner in L&F Distributors, one of the largest Anheuser-Busch distributors in Texas. L&F Distributors currently employs over 1,000 individuals and covers 35 counties in the states of Texas and New Mexico.
