Focus
As a Grants Coordinator, Carissa manages the lifecycle execution of grant proposal and reporting processes for Texas 2036. To drive the continued financial growth of Texas 2036, she collaborates cross-departmentally to identify strategy for funding opportunities, liaises with grant stakeholders, and spearheads compliance and gift processing procedures.
Prior Work Experience
Prior to joining the Texas 2036 team, Carissa has worked across the nonprofit development, corporate social responsibility, and human rights spaces. She previously served as an Associate Consultant at the Taproot Foundation, where she led Corporate Social Responsibility programing for Fortune 500 companies and facilitated pro-bono projects for nonprofits on a global scale. Throughout her time as a Development Operations Associate and Nonprofit Content Team Lead, she has advanced fundraising outcomes for justice areas ranging from mental health, higher education, women’s rights, and beyond.
Carissa is passionate about building the capacity of nonprofit organizations, overcoming resource gaps, and advancing outcomes for underserved communities. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading mystery novels, and growing her houseplant collection.
