Emily George joined Texas 2036 in 2022. Prior to her current role, Emily spent three years at Forvis, formerly known as BKD CPAs and Advisors. As a Director at BKD/Forvis, Emily developed the National Nonprofit Advisory Services business unit and served as the lead of the Dallas nonprofit advisory team. She also co-led the national expansion to more than 10 BKD/Forvis offices.

With over a decade of experience as a certified public accountant, Emily is knowledgeable in audit and consulting services for private and public for-profit and nonprofit entities.

Emily was born and raised in Lubbock and graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a master’s degree in Accounting and Information Management, and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Information Management and Business and Administration.

Emily spends her free time playing and watching soccer, traveling and spending time with her family in Dallas, including her two dogs.
