Alex Rose works on Texas 2036’s policy team for infrastructure and natural resources, focusing on energy policy issues.

Prior Work Experience

Prior to joining Texas 2036 in 2026, Alex Rose worked in state and local government affairs at Samsung Austin Semiconductor and lead state government relations for Plains All American, a midstream energy infrastructure company headquartered in Houston. During her time pursuing her master’s degree at the LBJ School of Public Affairs between 2020-2022, she worked in U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul’s District Office and served as a Brumley Fellow with the Clements Center for National Security Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. During this era, she also served as a Legislative Director in the Texas House of Representatives.

Before shifting back to policy and public affairs full-time in 2020, she worked as a project manager and communications strategist for companies like Disney, Netflix, VICE Media and GSD&M where she led large-scale events and full-scale marketing projects for brands like Mickey Mouse, Southwest Airlines, and more. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Washington and is a graduate of Austin High School.

Alex Rose lives in Austin with her husband, young daughter and their two dogs. She is active with the Junior League of Austin and the alumni board for the LBJ School of Public Affairs. She is passionate about building community and sound policy that improves the lives of Texans.
