Energy expansion: 2023 Texas Lege Agenda

Texas 2036 is hard at work drilling down into the policy issues that matter most to Texans. Here’s a look at our infrastructure priorities on energy expansion for the upcoming 88th Legislative Session.

Texas 2036 policy focus:

Our Infrastructure policy efforts: Texas’ growth correlates with accelerating infrastructure needs.

Just as this infrastructure needs to grow, so, too, does the need to replace aging, depreciating infrastructure that presents greater liabilities with each passing year.

What we’re focused on:

  • Energy expansion
  • Resilient electricity

Plus: State parks

The goal: The continuation of our economic miracle hinges on the expansion and modernization of our energy, water, transportation, broadband and government infrastructure.

Energy Expansion:

All of the above: Texas needs to pursue an “all of the above” strategy as part of its energy expansion.

This includes robust oil and gas production along with the development and deployment of:

  • Hydrogen
  • Geothermal
  • Battery storage
  • Carbon capture and underground storage
  • Expanded renewable energy portfolio

Did you know? Texas produced roughly 2.5 times more energy than any other state in 2020.

Texas Voter Poll take: 72% of Texans want the state to remain as the nation’s energy leader in the adoption of new technologies of cleaner forms of energy.
