About the Role
In July 2026, Texas 2036 will be relocating to a new office near the Texas Capitol. This new space—significantly larger than the current Austin office—will enable Texas 2036 to significantly improve the employee experience while also greatly expanding its capacity to host meetings and events with stakeholders.
Texas 2036 is seeking a Coordinator, Events and Operations to create a high-quality employee and guest experience at this new office. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Strategy and Operations, this full-time position will play a critical role in ensuring a welcoming, well-functioning workplace environment while serving as an onsite coordinator and event planner for gatherings hosted by Texas 2036. This includes partnering with Texas 2036 colleagues on events hosted at the Texas 2036 office, as well as those hosted at other locations in Austin or elsewhere in Texas. This role is in‐person in Texas 2036’s downtown Austin office and the Coordinator is expected to be in the office on a daily basis with frequent travel to other parts of Texas to support Texas 2036 events in other cities.

Responsibilities
The following is an overview of the responsibilities this role will have, though other duties may be assigned to support the overall mission and goals of Texas 2036. Of particular note, in conjunction with the relocation of the Austin, the Coordinator will have the opportunity to develop and implement standard operational procedures and systems for both event planning and office operations.
Event and Meeting Coordination
Serve as an in house event coordinator collaborating with colleagues on the planning and execution of high-quality internal and external events.
- In support of, and in collaboration with, Texas 2036’s teams, plan and execute events and meetings hosted at both the Austin office as well as at offsite locations, serving as event planner and host
- Coordinate event logistics including room reservations, AV/technology setup, catering, guest services, event flow, and onsite troubleshooting
- Serve as a concierge for guests, ensuring an exceptional visitor experience
- Partner with executive support, Operations, and Communications to ensure events run smoothly and align with brand standards
Office Operations & Employee Experience
Serve as the primary onsite coordinator of the Austin office experience, ensuring a first-class working and guest environment.
- Provide a welcoming presence for incoming phone calls and in-person guests
- Serve as the main point of contact for property management, and coordinate vendors and building services to ensure a clean and well functioning office space, including managing work orders
- Provide employee and guest-facing support services such as parking validation, light cleaning of common areas, and maintaining office supplies and kitchen stock
- Provide in-person, front line technical support to help resolve minor technical issues with office systems (video conference, copy machine, etc), escalating when necessary to outsourced technical support vendors and coordinating follow up
- Coordinate catering, deliveries, mail, and other office-wide services
- Support employee lifecycle operations including employee onboarding and offboarding
- Maintain inventory, asset tracking, and vendor contact lists for equipment and services in the Austin office
- Assist Strategy & Operations leadership with cross-organizational operational initiatives
Qualifications
- Desire to improve lives and expand opportunities for all Texans
- 2+ years of professional experience in office operations, hospitality, events management, human resources/employee experience, or a related field, with that experience being working with elected officials, in government, or in policy-related organizations preferred
- Thrives in an in-person role with a high level of responsibility for physical space and onsite hospitality
- Demonstrated strength in project management and operational execution
- Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, service-minded, detail-oriented approach to creating excellent experiences
- Experience working across teams within an organization
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using and learning office technology (A/V, video conferencing, basic IT support coordination, Apple and Dell products, GSuite, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Zoom, Slack, Monday.com, etc).
- Comfortable learning and leveraging artificial intelligence tools to improve efficiency and responsiveness. Experience using AI tools in prior roles is preferred
- Available to work extended hours, nights and/or weekends when necessary
- Experience working with external vendors, facilities management, and event suppliers
- Ability to safely lift, manipulate, and/or push event equipment and furniture such as audio-visual equipment, folding tables and chairs, rolling carts for folding tables, sound systems, catering food and equipment, etc.
Location
The Coordinator, Events and Operations, will be based in Texas 2036’s Austin office. This is primarily an in person role and the Coordinator will be expected to be present in the Austin office (or at an offsite event) 4.5 days a week on average. The Coordinator must be able to travel (up to 10% of the time) to cities across Texas in support of meetings, events, and other activities with various stakeholders, including board members, advisors, stakeholders, partners, and Texas 2036 colleagues.
Compensation and Benefits
Texas 2036 offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience. The target salary range for this position is $65,000 – $80,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision and dental insurance with employee premiums paid by Texas 2036, a cell phone stipend and a 401K matching program.
