Help shape tomorrow's workforce in Texas. A resilient, future-ready workforce starts when all Texas high school students graduate career or college ready.

Nearly 120,000 Texas children per year are graduating not college or career ready. We’re on a mission to change that.
We believe that 100% of students in Texas public high schools should graduate ready for life after high school.

We want to ensure students can enroll in higher education, without the need for remediation or that they receive an industry credential before high school graduation that leads to a high-demand, high-wage job after graduation.
OUR WORK

What the data tells us:

90% of students graduate from high school in Texas.

70% of Texas high school graduates are considered college or career ready.

Only 36% of high school graduates complete a postsecondary degree or credential.

18.8% of Texas students receive a workforce credential while still in high school.

Right now, Texas students aren’t graduating prepared for college or career.

About half of Texas high school graduates enter the workforce after high school, but only one in four of those students earn a living wage.

In order to be successful, Texas students need to graduate from high school ready for college or career.

How's Texas doing? Texas is creating jobs faster than other large states in the United States. Next Who has better odds at getting a Texas job? While Texas may be producing more jobs than other states, the data shows that these jobs are likely going to people from out-of-state rather than Texas natives. NEXT Not enough Texans are college or career ready. While 90% of Texas students are completing high school, 65% are considered college or career ready. Next Texans aren't meeting college standards. 83,000 students who enrolled in higher education for the first time did not meet college readiness standards in 2017. Next
