Tom Luce doesn’t claim to have solutions to any of our global problems. As the name of his new initiative, Texas 2036, suggests, his focus is on the future of this state — and whether Texas will be prepared to meet its known challenges.
Nor is the 79-year-old Luce a proponent of the “radical action” that many young Americans are demanding — especially in response to the epidemic of gun violence, or the worldwide climate crisis. Quite the opposite.
