Date: Jul 24, 2020

Join us today as Texas 2036 President and CEO Margaret Spellings discusses with Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar the potential effects that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on Texas’ budget ahead of the 2021 Legislative Session.

Glenn Hegar was elected as the 36th Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts in November 2014. Before he was elected Texas Comptroller, Hegar served in the Texas House of Representatives and Texas Senate, where he worked on a wide range of solutions to problems affecting Texans in areas such as public education, transportation, tax reform, and government transparency.

As chief financial officer for Texas, the 9th-largest economy of the world, Hegar monitors our state’s financial health to ensure it maintains strong fund balances.
