Date: May 19, 2020

Join us for a conversation with Sophia Johnson, founder and president of ABI, a Dallas-based advertising and marketing firm. Launched in 2003, the firm has grown to become a leading agency for the transportation, education, and healthcare industries and for non-profit organizations. ABI was hired by the City of Dallas to lead their outreach efforts for the 2020 Census which will be the focus of our conversation today.

The 2020 decennial census data will serve as the base for nearly all demographic and socio-economic statistics for the next 10 years. The quality of these data is directly linked to a complete and accurate count in 2020.

The U.S. Census is critical to the continued growth of society, providing critical data used by lawmakers, business owners and many others use to provide daily services, products, and support for communities.

What is Straight Talk Texas?

Today, it’s more important than ever for people across Texas to have access to discussions they can trust about challenges facing our state now and in the future. To be the best place to live and work, we need to listen, learn and be aware of what is on the minds of Texas leaders, policy experts, educators and health professionals.

If history is any guide, Texas can come back strong from the current challenges we face. It’s up to all of us to work together to make sure that happens. So, take 20 minutes and 36 seconds to listen in as state leaders talk about health care, education, workforce development and government performance. We hope these videos will provide a front-row seat to conversations that will illuminate and help shape the historic decisions currently facing our state.
