Recapping the legislative session: President’s Report

To keep you updated on our progress, Texas 2036 President and CEO Margaret Spellings prepared this short President’s Report recapping the legislative achievements made by Texas 2036 during the 88th regular legislative session. Highlights include:

• • Backed legislative efforts to modernize community college funding, enhance education quality and upgrade our aging water infrastructure.
  • Supported the establishment of new entities, such as the Space Commission and Artificial Intelligence Advisory Council, that are tackling new frontiers.
  • Began work on collecting data and research on the critical issues that will inform our 2025 legislative agenda.
