Yvonne Ho is a partner in the appellate group at Bracewell LLP who has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer and in Best Lawyers in America for civil appellate law. Previously, Yvonne was a professional classical pianist, obtaining a Bachelors of Music degree from Rice University in 1993 and a Masters of Music from the University of Southern California in 1995. After switching careers, Yvonne obtained her juris doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center in 2006, where she graduated summa cum laude and as the valedictorian of her class. She then served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ewing Werlein, Jr., in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, and for the Honorable Thomas M. Reavley, in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
In addition to writing and speaking on appellate topics, Yvonne devotes her time to many community activities. She has co-chaired committees through the Houston Bar Association that promote literacy, distribute books, clothing, and diapers to community organizations, and maximize employment and mentoring opportunities for minority law students. Yvonne also serves as the chair of Bracewell’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee and speaks frequently on diversity issues within the legal profession. Outside the office, Yvonne enjoys spending time with her husband, Allen Rice, who is a retired officer in the U.S. Navy and currently a professor at Lone Star College, and her son, Nicholas, who is studying computer science at Tufts University.
