Amy Mueller

General Counsel

Amy began as Texas 2036’s very first employee in 2016 after three years of practicing law at two top-tier firms in Dallas including Patton Boggs LLP and McGuireWoods LLP as a corporate attorney.  Her legal practice focused on private equity, venture capital, hedge fund and sovereign wealth fund representation. She has expertise in fund formation, investor side representation and M&A, corporate governance, and non-profit compliance. While attending college at UT Austin, Amy developed a passion for public policy while working in the offices of Senator Jane Nelson and former Speaker of the Texas House Joe Straus.  Amy earned a B.S., summa cum laude, from the University of Texas at Austin and a juris doctorate, cum laude, from SMU Dedman School of Law. In her free time, she enjoys being active, spending time with her husband and two young native Texans, traveling, and pursuing her passion for child welfare issues.
