Madison Yandell

Policy Advisor


Madison is part of the Education & Workforce Team at Texas 2036 researching emerging issues in K-12 education and advocating on behalf of the organization at the Texas Capitol. During the 2021 Legislative Session, her work contributed to improved funding streams for technology in education, modernization of the state’s assessment system, and increased access to virtual learning.

For the 88th Legislative session, she will be working on removing barriers to innovative learning models, strategic spending, learning loss recovery efforts, and improving workforce alignment in rural communities. 

Prior Work Experience

Madison came to the Texas 2036 Austin Office from the public affairs firm, ROSS Communications. Prior to her tenure at ROSS, she worked in the Budget & Policy Division of the Office of Governor Greg Abbott where she focused on education issues, including school finance reform and school safety.

Before joining the Governor’s Office, Madison served as a policy analyst with the Texans for Greg Abbott Campaign helping to develop campaign policy proposals. Her past experience also includes the Texas House, Texas Senate, University of Texas System Office of Governmental Relations and Texas Department of Agriculture.
