Focus

While in the classroom, Gabe saw first-hand how vital high-quality education is as well as how policy decisions can have either significant positive impact, or unintended consequences for the students and families that he served. This experience fanned his passion for education policy and desire to see data-driven, systemic change that works for all students. Gabe works on a range of issues in the PK-12 space, including virtual education, teachers, curriculum, early literacy, advanced mathematics and accountability.

Prior Work Experience

Gabe joined Texas 2036 in 2021 after spending three years with Teach for America, teaching high school science in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In addition to his role as a classroom teacher, Gabe served as the test coordinator, social media manager and member of the Superintendent’s Teacher Cabinet. During his time at the University of Texas, he interned for Rep. Cindy Burkett during the 85th Legislative session.
