Texas Rural Funders Collaborative Releases Report Examining the Challenges and Opportunities Facing Rural Texas.

The Texas Rural Funders Collaborative (TRFC) is a group of foundations, community foundations, and health-conversion foundations united by their shared belief that the health of Texas as a state depends upon the success of all our communities, and that urban and rural areas are inextricably linked.

In an effort towards contributing to the collective knowledge about the opportunities and challenges facing rural Texas, The Collaborative compiled a report that includes:

  • An introduction to rural Texas prepared by Texas 2036
  • A landscape analysis developed by the Boston Consulting Group
  • A report on the natural environment prepared by Natural Resources Institute at Texas A&M University
  • The results of a statewide survey regarding rural Texas conducted by Strategic Research Associates
  • The results of a listening tour on broadband access in rural Texas by Connected Nation.

The report (available at edtx.org/TexasRural),  was prepared for the Texas Tribune Rural Symposium hosted by the Texas Tribune in College Station on Nov. 12th & 13th, 2018.
